
UDFA requests chairpersons of NHRC, NMC for a national-level investigation be initiated across all states to ensure that fraudulent practices are not occurring in any medical councils, thereby safeguarding the integrity of the medical profession nationwide.
The Matter
Recently, an investigative report by Dainik Bhaskar reveals that many unqualified individuals, some with only a 12th-grade education, have fraudulently obtained permanent medical registrations under the RMC, allowing them to pose as doctors and surgeons, hence endangering public health in Rajasthan Medical Council (RMC) reads the letter written by United Doctors Front Association (UDFA) to chairpersons of NHRC and NMC.

Permanent registrations granted by the Rajasthan Medical Council to MBBS pass outs for the period of 1 Jan 2022 to 14 Aug 2024 are as under :
- Permanent registrations for Students pass outs from Rajasthan: 7789
- Permanent registrations for Students pass outs from Other State of India: 4924
- Permanent registrations for Students pass outs from Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs): 2086
- ie Large no of registrations within a short span of time.
In RTI response “We do not have influence or detailed knowledge of these criteria, and any specific information should be confirmed directly with the council”, it stated. So there was clear lack of Verification Criteria in the response.
