Acc to the sources of The Medical Bulletin, IAS Punya Salila Srivastava has joined on 1st Oct 2024 as the next Union Health Secretary, succeeding IAS Apurva Chandra after his retirement on 30th September 2024.

IAS Punya Salila Srivastava was earlier OSD (Officer on Special Duty) in Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The file from MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) is on her table, pending for the approval. So release of Schedule of NEETPG 2024 Counselling is least likely this week.

Update on SC Hearing (4th Oct 2024)

CJI is on leave and was not sitting today. The petitioners have requested a special mentioning urgently under – Justice Pardiwal & Justice Manoj Mishra. But they refused to entertain due to absence of CJI as it is a special matter to be heard by CJI only.

In the upcoming week, there is Dussehra holidays in SC, the matter can be listed only after that.
