A Virtual Meeting took place with MCC, NMC, NBEMS and other state counselling authorities regarding NEETPG 2024 State Specific Merit List on 28th Oct 2024 (Monday).
Key-Points (28th Oct)
States like Haryana and Goa, which do not offer additional incentives to NEETPG 2024 candidates, can generate their own merit lists without contacting NBEMS.
NBEMS suggested a one-time registration for all counseling rounds by State Counseling Authorities.
State Counselling Authorities were recommended to complete registrations by November 5, 2024.
State Counseling Authorities will provide NBEMS with a password-protected list of eligible candidates by November 6, 2024, following this a week later NBEMS will revert back the newly generated “State Specific Merit” list back to the states.
Letter of NMC to states (26th Oct) in regards to issue of In-Service Candidates
Due to recent changes in the exam pattern by NBEMS, states that previously added incentive marks to the scores of candidates from rural and difficult areas for creating state-specific ranks are now facing challenges in doing so, was acknowledged by the NMC.
So to prevent delays in NEETPG counselling, the NMC has decided to permit NBEMS to enable state counseling authorities to establish state-specific ranks solely for state quota purposes in NEETPG 2024. This decision has received approval from the competent authority.
Rest the letter mentioned about the role of NBE to facilitate State Counselling authorities for generating state quota rank.
Another update was shared by Dr Lakshay Mittal (President – UDFA) on social media handle X (formerly Twitter) regarding the resolution of bottle neck glitch in the counselling process received from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

We can now hope the counselling process would resume soon.
