The National Testing Agency (NTA) has confirmed that NEET UG 2025 will be conducted in the traditional pen-and-paper (OMR-based) mode ie the exam will take place in a single day and single shift in an official public notice dated 16th January 2025.
Two days back thru another public notification NTA mentioned the registration process for NEET (UG) 2025 will also commence soon. In preparation, candidates are advised to update their Aadhaar credentials, ensuring their details match official documents like Class 10 mark sheets.
The NTA is integrating the Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR ID) with Aadhaar-based authentication to streamline application submissions and enhance examination efficiency. Candidates are encouraged to ensure their Aadhaar is linked to a valid mobile number for smooth OTP-based authentication during registration.

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate (NEETUG) is a single, national-level entrance examination in India conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). It is mandatory for admission into undergraduate medical, dental, and allied health programs.
The exam is conducted in 13 languages, including English, Hindi, Urdu, and regional languages such as Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, and Bengali.
This is a exam with a 3-hour 20-minute pen-and-paper test with 200 multiple-choice questions, of which candidates must attempt 180. Divided into Physics (50), Chemistry (50), and Biology (100), each subject has two sections: Section A (35 questions) and Section B (15 questions, attempt 10). The total marks are 720, with +4 for correct answers and -1 for incorrect answers. Biology holds the highest weightage.
Candidates can apply online through the official NTA portal once the process starts, submit personal and academic details, and upload required documents, including photographs, signatures, and Aadhaar verification.
