Overview

A major fraud has been uncovered in the allocation of seats under the NRI quota in private medical colleges of Madhya Pradesh during NEET PG counseling. Seats were allotted to candidates without registration. This irregularity has been proven in a government investigation. The Medical Education Department will soon file an FIR in this matter. Additionally, the NEET PG Counseling Committee has started investigating candidates who did not take admission after being allotted seats. The aim is to identify candidates and brokers involved in the fraud.

Director of Medical Education (DME) Dr. A.K. Srivastava stated that Dr. Rahul Singh from Arunachal Pradesh had complained that he did not register for counseling, yet his name was included. Dr. Rahul mentioned that he did not participate in the counseling due to a poor rank. Meanwhile, the Counseling Committee has sought clarification from Dr. Manas Singh, who secured a seat under the NRI quota in the first round of NEET PG counseling, regarding his registration.

Mismatched Details

The mobile number and email ID entered in Dr. Rahul Singh’s profile created on the MP Online portal differ from his original NEET PG form. The bank details include the IFSC code and account number of an SBI branch in Shivpuri. Similarly, Dr. Manas Singh’s registration form contains the IFSC code and account number of a private bank in Vaishali district, Bihar. The Counseling Committee is verifying the authenticity of these account numbers and other information.

Signature Scam

The committee found that the domicile certificates of 6 out of 91 candidates bear the same person’s signature. An investigation into this has also begun.

First, the 25 candidates who did not take admission will be investigated

Documents Requested for Verification

Despite being allotted seats in the first round of counseling, 25 candidates did not take admission in the college. Now, their profiles and documents are being scrutinized. The Counseling Committee has requested the digital data and uploaded documents of 91 candidates from MP Online. According to committee sources, after the initial investigation of the 25 students who did not take admission, the candidates who were allotted seats in the first round on the remaining NRI seats will also be investigated, whether they took admission or not.

Vacant Seats

Out of the total 91 NRI quota seats in 8 private medical colleges in the state, only 36 seats have been taken by candidates.
