Delay in NEETPG 2024 Counselling sparks concerns among aspirants

NEETPG 2024 – Display Message on MCC Website since 20th Sept 2024

The NEETPG 2024 Exam was conducted in Two shifts on 11th August 2024 after multiple delays, the results were declared by the National Board of Examination on 23rd August 2024. The Online Registration for Counselling started on 20th Sept 2024, without declaration of Seat Matrix, Information Brochure and proper timelines.

Since then 45 and 15 days has passed after conduction of exam and declaration of result respectively and as of now there is no update from end of Medical Counselling Committee on their website.

This has sparked concerns among the qualified candidates, the students have worked hard for this exam from past 1.5 yrs and now are in mental and financial burden, not only on them as well as their families. Students are now urging the Health Ministry, NBE and MCC to expedite the counselling process.

Our correspondent talked to a student on condition of anonymity, the student expressed, as there are no proper timelines, he is not even in condition to join any job for short period of time. If they have mentioned the counselling would be delayed by 2-3 months, then he would have planned accordingly. He is very anxious.

Already a group of students had approached the Supreme Court regarding alleged discrepancies in conduction of the exam. The 1st hearing was on 20th Sept, then on 27th Sept, since then there is no hearing. The court has not passed any order for the stay.

UDFA – United Doctors’ Front Association India had already written a letter to the Hon’ble health minister, NMC and DGHS, addressing the concerns and demands urgent intervention in the matter.

Dr Dhruv Chauhan (IMA-JDN) took over the issue on X, he quotes “What’s mental torture?” … “It has been over 2 month since the already delayed NEET PG exam which was scheduled to happen in July rescheduled to august 11 happened but no counselling has started yet and like every year Doctors have to sit in dilemma of waiting period along with unemployment!”
