At 45 years old, Arti Singh Rao is the daughter of Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh and the granddaughter of former Chief Minister Rao Birendra Singh. With her appointment as Health Minister, the Rao family’s political legacy, also referred to as Rampura House, is further strengthened in the Ahirwal region, specifically in Rewari and Mahendragarh districts. Her candidacy represents a continuation of her father’s legacy, positioning her as an important figure for the BJP in that area.
The Ateli constituency, which has a large rural population, was key to Arti’s electoral success. As a third-generation leader from the Rao family, her election emphasizes the lasting political impact of her family. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Delhi University, which she obtained in 2000, and is also recognized for her talent in shooting sports.
In her new capacity, Arti Singh Rao will manage the Health Ministry, which encompasses the Medical Education and Research and AYUSH departments. Her appointment is part of a larger initiative to include women in the newly established Haryana cabinet led by Chief Minister Nayab Saini.
