The National Medical Commission (NMC) has introduced an online anonymous feedback system for MBBS students, enabling them to share honest inputs about their academic and institutional experience. The feedback will remain confidential and is aimed at improving internal academic review and overall quality of medical education.

In a recent post on X, Dr Dhruv Chauhan (A Doctor and Activist) raised serious concerns regarding the effectiveness of the NMC’s newly launched anonymous feedback system for MBBS students. While the initiative appears progressive on paper, he argued that it may have limited real-world impact due to the lack of accountability and follow-up mechanisms.
According to him, the core issue lies in how complaints are handled. Once a concern is submitted, colleges often respond through official communication that aligns with their narrative, and in many cases, there is no independent verification or on-ground investigation by NMC. As a result, issues are frequently marked as “resolved” without actual resolution, leaving students’ grievances unaddressed.
He further emphasized that this pattern is not new and that the regulatory body is likely aware of these gaps. Without a robust monitoring and follow-up system, the feedback risks becoming a formality rather than a meaningful tool for reform, raising questions about the long-term effectiveness of such initiatives.
