The Indian Medical Association’s Junior Doctors’ Network (IMA-JDN UP) and the Resident Doctors Association (RDA UP) have condemned the harassment of Dr. Saurabh Tripathi, a senior doctor in Mau, by local MP Shri Rajeev Rai.
Despite Dr. Tripathi following government protocols and showing respect while performing his duties, the district administration has issued a show-cause notice against him. The associations have expressed deep concern over this treatment and have warned of escalating the issue through protests if the harassment continues.
The video evidence shows that MP Rajeev Rai behaved inappropriately by threatening the senior doctor and obstructing him from providing public service. IMA-JDN UP and RDA UP demand a written apology from the MP and call for immediate cessation of harassment against both senior and junior doctors.
If the demands are not met, they have stated that the state leadership will intensify protests to protect the rights of healthcare professionals.
