TEST CENTRES

There are 60 Test Center across India to choose from. At the time of submitting the FMGE application, candidates must select 4 preferred test cities, without ranking them. NBEMS will allocate a test center randomly in one of these cities based on administrative, logistical, and security considerations; however, indicating a preference does not guarantee a center in those cities.

If no seats are available in the chosen cities, NBEMS may assign a center elsewhere. The test city list is tentative, and changes may occur due to security, logistics, or unforeseen issues. In such cases, candidates may be assigned to other selected or nearby cities. NBEMS will notify candidates of their allocated city by email and may add new cities if needed to accommodate candidates.

EXAM PATTERN

FMGE exam comprises two parts — each part carrying a total of 150 questions. The question paper consists of overall 300 multiple-choice questions. The question paper for each part of Exam will be divided into three time bound sections, (Section A, B & C) in each part of the question paper, each such section will have 50 questions and 50 minutes of time allotted for the section. Candidates would be restricted to proceed to the next section till completion of the allotted time of the previous section. There will be no negative marking.

A candidate will be declared as passed if he or she obtains a minimum of 150 marks out of 300 in the examination. FMGE is conducted as a screening test for aspirants desirous of getting a provisional or permanent license to practice medicine in India.
