New Delhi, February 24, 2025 – The Supreme Court of India is reluctantly set to hear the case Ishika Jain vs NBE (Diary No. 41088/2024), which raises concerns about the National Board of Examinations’ (NBE) handling of NEETPG 2024. The petition demands the release of question papers, answer keys, and greater transparency in the normalization process.

Initially scheduled for final disposal on November 26, 2024, the case has since been repeatedly rescheduled due to various reasons, including time constraints. It has been deferred to multiple dates, including December 3, 2024; January 7, 2025; January 8, 2025; January 15, 2025; January 28, 2025, and now February 25, 2025 (CL-41). The matter is currently listed before a bench comprising Justices B.R. Gavai and Augustine George Masih.

Another case pending before the Supreme Court is National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences vs. Dr. Abhishek Shukla & Others, The State of Madhya Pradesh, and Director of Medical Education (Diary No. 58414/2024), filed as a Special Leave Petition.

In the last hearing on January 29, 2025, the learned senior counsel appearing for the petitioner requested, and was granted, two weeks’ time to file a rejoinder affidavit. The case was to be listed thereafter; however, since then, no further updates have been published on the official website.
