New Delhi, 15 June: In a significant development, the United Doctors Front (UDF) has officially appealed to Union Health Minister Shri J.P. Nadda to extend the internship completion cut-off date for NEETPG 2025 to 31st August 2025 for students of Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University (MPMSU), Jabalpur.
Background
The appeal comes in the wake of administrative delays in the declaration of MBBS Final Part-II (Supplementary & Ex.) examination results.
According to MPMSU Notification No. MPMSU/Conf./2024/9360, the results of the June 2024 exam were announced as late as 16th August 2024. Consequently, students could only commence their internships on or after 19th August 2024 — making it impossible for them to complete the mandatory 12-month internship by the current cut-off date of 31st July 2025.
This delay, entirely administrative in nature, threatens to render hundreds of otherwise eligible candidates ineligible for NEETPG 2025. The UDF, a national doctors’ advocacy body, highlighted that the situation is unfair and calls for urgent intervention in the interest of justice and academic parity.
“We sincerely urge the National Medical Commission to consider a modest extension till 31st August 2025, so that affected students aren’t denied their right to compete in NEET PG 2025 due to reasons beyond their control,” the UDF stated in the letter.
Official internship commencement letters from MPMSU-affiliated colleges have also been attached with the request as supporting documentation.
Representations Send
This representation has also been sent to the Chairman and Secretary of the National Medical Commission, as well as the Director of the Post-Graduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB).
As the NEETPG 2025 exam has already been rescheduled to 3rd Aug 2025, students and organizations now hope that authorities will act swiftly to address this genuine concern and prevent the academic careers of many from being jeopardized.
